The Ecumenical Community Food Pantry of Norwood, Inc. serves over 350 families in the towns of Norwood and Westwood. We encourage clients to use the pantry as a stepping stone toward independence. All clients are treated with respect and dignity, and services are confidential.

If you are not a Norwood or Westwood resident, the Greater Boston Food Bank can help you locate a pantry in your community.

Zip Trip Cereal Drive to benefit the Norwood Food Pantry. Please help your neighbors in need by dropping by the Common on April 5th with a box or two -- or a bag or two -- of healthy cereal. (You could wind up on TV!)

Zip Trips will be bigger and better than ever this summer with the addition of a family play area, a kids' fun run, and more crowd participation.

NORWOOD FOOD PANTRY NEEDS VOLUNTEERS Can you spare a few hours a month to help your hungry neighbors?

Each Friday afternoon, The Norwood Food Pantry needs volunteers with an SUV or a pickup truck to pick up from from the Big Y in Walpole. You would need to drive to the rear receiving door at 1 PM to pick up 8 to 10 banana boxes packed with donated food, including frozen meat, produce, and dairy. Then, you will need to drive it to the Pantry, where you will be met for unloading.

Did you know?

  • The pantry opened in 1989 providing food to six clients.
  • We have a completely volunteer staff, giving many hours of their time each week to purchasing food, stocking shelves, sorting goods by expiration dates, cleaning, repairing, and handling administrative duties. Currently, we have over 100 volunteers involved in one or more of these activities.
  • Federal/USDA data, values food at $1.66 per pound. Fortunately we receive many donations of food rather than having to purchase all of the food we need.

Norwood and Westwood are extremely generous communities. We are fortunate to have these resources available to us. Thank you to all of you for all you do. Free Web Hosting Web Hosting
