Assistant Director Application
Job Description

The Assistant Director works collaboratively with the Executive Director in managing the operation of the Norwood Food Pantry including providing training and supervision to the Pantry’s all-volunteer staff.

The Assistant Director is a volunteer position and will perform the activities of the Director whenever the Director is scheduled to be off-site and unavailable.

The time commitment is approximately 8-10 hours per week spread over 2 to 3 weekday mornings plus two Saturday mornings a month on a regular basis.
Duties may include:

Inventory and stocking storage areas

Ordering food from local stores and from food distribution organizations such as Greater Boston Food Bank.

Driving to local grocery stores and picking up orders

Resolving food distribution issues and client complaints

Providing direct assistance to clients of varying backgrounds

Maintaining computer program files and database reports.
